Desiderio N° 1 Sparkling Spumante Rosé Brut Cuvée Prestige
DESIDERIO N°1 Rosé Spumante Cuvée Prestige Brut is made from hand-selected grapes followed by destemming, light slow pressing, and fermentation according to the method of bioenology, the result is a unique and beautiful antique pale pink. The grapes, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay, are carefully selected from our vineyard in Roncade, harvested by hand in September, and vinified without skin. Following a long and slow fermentation we then let the wine mature in our stainless steel tanks and finally, we create our Cuvée following the Charmat method.
This sparkling wine is obtained by blending our best Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay grapes, through double fermentation with selected natural live yeasts. Features a fine and persistent perlage that enhances the fruity aroma in which it is recognized the typical presence of red fruits,
especially cherries and sour cherries. On the palate there is an acidic tip typical of the grape variety to which it belongs, the aftertaste carries a hint of cherry. Excellent as an aperitif, yet great pairing with light appetizers, grilled fish, cold cuts and cheeses.

What Is Prosecco? Prosecco is a sparkling wine made from the Glera grape in Italy. It has subtle floral aromas and tastes of apples, pears, and white peaches. Its flavor varies from sweet to dry. The Glera grape is usually grown up in the hills of northern Italy near Venice. The soil in this region adds to its unique flavor profile - which is why prosecco from other regions doesn't quite have the same taste!
What Is Champagne? Champagne, on the other hand, is a sparkling wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown only in France's Champagne region near Paris. This area has a different soil composition than Italy. It also tends to be more expensive due to labor costs and limited production areas. Champagne also can range from dry to sweet depending on how much sugar has been added during production and aging processes.
What is Sekt ? Sekt is a sparkling wine mainly produced in Germany. Here the producers are allowed to import grapes, juice or ready made wine to produce Sekt, therefore they are not allowed to use a protected designation of origin or protected denomination unlike Prosecco and Champagne. Most Sekt are producing using the Martinotti-Charmat method, like Prosecco and a smaller percentage using the Classic Method like Champagne. Regardless of the quality and area of production, Sekt tends to be sweeter than Prosecco and Champagne, with a strong fruity aroma and floral notes.

The most famous Italian Aperitivo has very old origins. It was born at the end of 18th century when Austrian soldiers started tasting Veneto wines which they found too strong for their taste so, to lighten the wine they started adding sparkling water to it, in fact, Spritzen in German means To Spray.
The Spritz, as we know it today, was born i 1920 when Italian bartenders started using Prosecco mixed with bitter, soda and an orange slice in the drink, until it becomes an official IBA drink in 1970.

In order to produce Prosecco we must follow a strict "disciplinare" (literally translated a huge book of rules and regulations!) and according to those rules, Prosecco can only be produced in certain areas, using certain grapes and a rigorous production method with pre-established deadlines. Only then the Government will issue a certificate for your Prosecco DOC (controlled designation of origin) to make sure you get the best product in your bottle.
